Connexus Family & Children Services is a community-based agency providing a range of services to children, youth, and families in the British Columbia Lower Mainland since 1997. We provide a comprehensive spectrum of services consisting of both in-home support services to families as well as staffed residential programs in Vancouver, BC.


Job Title: Residential Care Worker

Job Summary:
Our Residential Programs offer the opportunity to develop a working knowledge of residential care, enhance professional knowledge and skills, and increase awareness and proficiency in working with high-risk children and youth. The Residential Care Workers provide individual clients with life skills training and guidance consistent with the needs of a client group with mental illness. Incumbents must have the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team context, and be able to demonstrate basic counselling skills, crisis intervention skills, conflict resolution skills and problem solving skills, as well as written and verbal communication skills. This position is considered a ‘front-line’ job, without supervisory responsibility.

Requirements for the position include:
1. An undergraduate degree related to the social service field with relevant experience or a 2 year
diploma in a related discipline with related professional experience
2. First Aid/CPR certification to meet the Community Care Facility Act
3. Food Sanitation and Hygiene Certificate
4. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate
5. Class 5 Driving license and an acceptable driver’s abstract and vehicle

Salary: Wage Grid 11: $15.95 – $18.77/hr
