Mission
Connexus is committed to providing effective community-based services
to children, youth and families. We believe in promoting and enhancing
the capacity of communities to support families; of families to nurture
their children and youth; and of children and youth to become positive
members of their community.
Mandate
Our mandates are program specific and are outlined in the contractual
obligations with the Ministry for Children and Family Development (MCFD).
As with MCFD, they reflect the following principles:
•To provide a comprehensive continuum of effective services to children,
youth and families with a variety of needs;
•To strengthen the capacity of families and communities, while recognizing
the importance of family and individual resilience;
•To provide services in a culturally sensitive and respectful manner;
•To provide services which reflect a commitment to the practice of inclusive
foster care;
•To utilize the wrap-around/integrated case management support to involve
children, youth, families and their informal supports from
the communities
they live in;
•To provide services with an emphasis on early and ongoing assessment
and planning and prevention;
•To bring services to children, youth and families.

Every April, Connexus produces an Annual Report
which documents program activities and outcomes for the past calendar
year and makes recommendations for future directions. This may be viewed
